Audi Confirms RS5 Coupe for United States, Prices R8 5.2 Spyder
First, we'll get on with the more immediate news. When the 2011 Audi R8 5.2 Spyder arrives at dealers in the United States next month, the starting price tag will be a hefty (but worth it) $161,000. For automatic transmission drivers who want to be like Iron Man, R-tronic models will cost $170,000 and up. Either way, buyers will get a 525-hp V10 and a 0-60 mph time of around four seconds.
For those of you who just can't quite budget that much, we'll remind you that a 4.2-liter R8 Spyder V8 will be arriving here at a later date. We don't know how much it will cost, but it should be a few tens of thousands less.
On to the (slightly) more attainable news. Audi of America has also confirmed that the blazing hot RS5 coupe will be headed this way with its 450-hp V8 and sport-biased quattro system. Pricing, options, fuel economy, and all those other details will be left for a later date. And speaking of later dates, the bad news is that the RS5 won't be arriving until one. An exact time table hasn't been announced, only that it will arrive sometime in the year 2012. That's two from now, in case you're confused. And that's a bummer.
